Pay Rate: $26-$28 Dollars Hourly
Schedule: Monday – Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Working closely with the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and the Office of Mental Health, we support 27 housing locations and 3 administrative buildings.
About the Role
We are looking for a proactive employee to lead and coordinate behavioral health services for children with developmental and behavioral needs. This role focuses on conducting functional behavior assessments, developing and overseeing individualized behavior intervention plans, training and supervising staff in behavior supports and crisis intervention, ensuring interventions are implemented, and providing various program management pieces.
Responsibilities include:
- Complete intake assessments for new referrals, as directed
- Attend and participate in planning meetings
- With input from children, families, and team members; develop written staff action plans/safeguards minimally twice a year, or more, if needs change
- Implement a system to communicate with children, families, and team members to monitor satisfaction with services and ensure services are implemented, as intended
- Monitor staff through observation and documentation reviews to ensure that staff action plans/safeguards are implemented correctly, choices are offered, and services are implemented in a person-centered manner
- Ensure that behavioral interventions and safeguards are developed, and implemented by staff correctly, as needed
- Develop daily/weekly staff schedules to meet the children’s needs
- Work directly with, and implement service plans/staff action plans with, children and families, as the need arises; may be scheduled to provide services due to staffing shortages
- Conduct functional behavioral assessments and develop behavior intervention plans, which focus on proactive, active, and reactive, strategies across a broad range of behaviors and behavioral intensity, compliant with OPWDD standards and regulations
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and adjust plans, as needed
- Train staff on positive behavior supports and crisis intervention techniques
- Provide consultation and support to individuals, families, and planning teams proactively, and during times of crisis
- Respond to crisis situations by using good judgement through prevention, intervention, resolution, and reporting, to ensure the safety and well-being of the participant
- Responsible for the supervision of the Youth Specialist Coordinator and assigned Youth Specialists
- Monitor and approve staff timecards and staff mileage, per Agency policy
- Ensure that all required documentation is completed with required elements and maintained per Agency procedures; including service notes, monthly notes, staff action plans, billing etc., ensure required documents such as LCED are current and on record
- Ensure incident reports are completed and submitted in a timely manner, ensure any safeguards enacted or recommendations made as a result, are implemented
- Ensure monthly billing is completed accurately and submitted to Finance, per Agency procedures
- Ensure that participants’ rights are protected regarding their money and personal possessions
- Provide person-centered, quality, services
- Observe confidentiality and safeguards regarding all participant related information
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as with company policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
Master’s degree in either Applied Behavior Analysis, or a related field, required. Licensed, or willing to become licensed, in ABA or related field, preferred. One year of experience in developing and/or implementing behavior plans, required. Supervisory experience, preferred.
Conditions of Employment
Must have a valid NYS Driver License in accordance with the Agency Vehicle and Driving policy and transportation necessary to meet program needs.
